Welcome to the World Samantha Leah

I was due on Monday, May 30th - Memorial Day.  Here I am going for a walk around our neighborhood on my actual due date...

I always said that our daughter would come when she was ready and she did, just a couple of days later.  My water broke on Thursday night around 8pm and after 15 hours of labor...we had our beautiful baby girl on Friday morning June 3rd at 11:05am.  Here is the room  at Greenwich Hospital where it all happened:

Most important is the connection to oxygen next to the room number.  I used that oxygen mask during my labor as often as I could.  I pushed for about 30-40 minutes and out she came.  Here is the first family picture...

Obviously my penguin pillow was with me during the entire pregnancy AND labor and delivery.  This pillow, ice shavings, the IPod playlist and an amazingly supportive husband were the perfect combination for a successful labor and delivery.
