Samantha, Mikey and a Pair of Socks

Samantha loves to hang out with her friend Mikey.  They are getting to the age where they interact and know there is another baby around.  You can watch them having a great time in this two minute video and can even hear them have a conversation at the beginning ;-)   They are playing at Mikey's house and having fun with Samantha's socks!   Yes, that's right, one sock Samantha decided to take both of her socks off on this beautiful March day!

Our Little Explorer

We thought we had finished baby proofing, but Samantha makes sure to show us something that we have missed almost every day now!  It seemed like Samantha would not figure out how to open cabinets and drawers so we held off on all cabinets, except one.  In this video Samantha shows how well she can stand and squat AND open the cabinet.  Stay tuned for the end when she waves buh-bye!

She's a Climber!

Samantha surprised all of us and climbed two stairs at my parent's house.  It was unreal!  She even had an audience of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and Charlie (my parent's dog).  Listen to the audience cheer and bark - and look at her go...

Snow in the Morning, Swim in the Afternoon

It snowed this morning and Samantha watched from the window with Daddy.  What is the best activity for a snowy day?  Swimming of course.  Samantha's friend Tessa invited her to swim at her indoor pool today.  Mommy was in charge of pictures and Daddy took her in.  Everyone had a great day!!  See for yourself in this video...

This is a video of Samantha's first time on a swing.  I took her to the playground in our townhouse complex.  We were lucky to have an unusually warm winter so Samantha and I took advantage of the beautiful day.  Take a look!

Nice Wheels

Samantha isn't old enough to get her permit, but she is old enough to drive in the living room with Daddy!  Samantha takes after her Dad and drives a V6 - watch her go!!

A few weeks later she decided to take her friend Wil's car out for a test run.  It is a V8!

Tiny Bubbles and a Tiny Tooth

Samantha and I have tried more music classes than we can count and we officially signed up for a weekly class.  Today was our first class and Samantha loved it!  She especially loved the bubbles!

Later in they day mommy and daddy discovered a tiny TOOTH coming through Samantha's gums in the front on the bottom.  Samantha and mommy share the news in this video of her crawling/exploring the kitchen yet again!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Mommy and Daddy bought me a new outfit for Grandma's 60th Birthday!  Look at me with my family - my parents let me stay up until 9:45pm because I behaved so well - way past my bedtime!!  Don't forget to check out my tights that match my skirt and my Stuart Weitzman shoes :-)

Samantha is really moving now and it only took a few days for her to let loose!  Look at my little explorer check out the kitchen...

Samantha seemed curious about what goes on in the kitchen so we went to the supermarket this afternoon and she rode in the shopping cart for the first time.  This picture was taken right before she dropped a jar of baby food on the floor.  Samantha taught mommy a valuable lesson - she can hold grocery items, but no glass!  Luckily the Stop 'n Shop in Greenwich has very nice employees who took care of the clean-up on aisle 5!

Notice the cheerios in the shopping cart...  She tried some of her friend Mikey's cheerios yesterday and liked them a lot!  So now she has some of her own :-)  BTW - this aisle has a freezer section on the left that you can't see, that is why she is still wearing her hat and coat :-)

Samantha was so excited to spend her first New Year's with her friend Tessa!!  They even wore matching pink and white outfits :-)

One Sock Samantha Can CRAWL

Samantha's loves to take off her right sock, but only her right sock.  She has earned the name one sock Samantha.  These two videos show Samantha crawling for the first time tonight!!  It is her way to welcome in the New Year.  The first video was when she first learned that she could move forward.  Her version of crawling is with one foot tucked under.  The second video is just a few minutes later and she shows some progress already.  Time to put up the gates!!!!

Two of her favorite things are pictured in both videos.  The IPad that she uses to facetime her grandparents and the letter I which is part of her mat in her play area.  If you listen closely you can hear Grandma Finkelstein in the background of both videos.

Clap Hands

The last week in December Samantha learned how to clap.  In this short video she shows off her talent for Daddy...

Then on New Year's Day she showed off her clapping talent with Mommy, Grandma and Grandpa during the Giants game.  She was so excited the Giants made the playoffs!

A GIANT Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve day we went to a Giants/Jets football party and Samantha dressed the part!  Then we went to Christmas Eve at Aunt Fern's house.  There was a no time for an outfit change.  This is a really quick video of Samantha and her new present.  We just needed to remember her first Christmas Eve, a GIANT win and her Eli jersey with her flower jeans, what a combo!

Chanukah OH Chanukah!

Samantha had a fun first Chanukah!  She enjoyed celebrating with both the Finkelstein/Schwartz Family and the Zeliger Family.  Here are some memorable moments from both parties!

NYC Fun

Today we had a big day.  First Samantha went to visit her friend Ethan at his apartment in manhattan.  Samantha played on Ethan's mat and they both shared their toys.  Then we went to cousin Joey's Birthday party.  Samantha is so lucky to have friends and family close by and close to her age!

Samantha's first time in a High Chair.  It was very memorable because she did it with family at a Jersey Diner!

Today we went to a trial class with Samantha's friend Mason.  It was at "My Gym" in Mamaroneck and this class is called "Tiny Tykes".  Samantha had a lot of fun and mommy got some great pictures, see for yourself!

She stayed on by herself just long enough for mommy to snap a picture!

Happy Half Birthday!!

It's Samantha's half birthday!!  I have posted a picture from each month to see her grow.  When she was born she weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 19 inches.  At her 6 month check-up she weighed 14 pounds and 15 ounces and measured 25 and 1/4 inches.  Our little girl is getting so big!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall...

Samantha is learning new things and showing us new tricks each day.  She is getting much better at sitting up.  Today I sat her in front of the mirror and she had a very interesting reaction, see for yourself...
